A Thyme for Blue

Those who know me, know I have a strong dislike for the color "blue".
So I am sure it will come as a surprise that in the garden , it is my favorite hue ...

I love the way it pops and brings a element of joy to all the green.

With all things there is a time and a place ... even a thyme for blue ! Do you have any blue in your garden?

  4. I have always disliked blue also, and everytime my DH would buy a new pot for the yard it would be blue ( his favorite color ). After seeing your pics, maybe I will gather them all up and take a second look. Your yard is gorgeous and the blue is beautiful. Hugs, Marty

  5. Ah, my favorite blue is the Echinops. And maybe a little bright blue of the lobelia - which is an annual in my zone, I believe. Oh how about the delphiniums and the heliotrope - I guess I do have a bit of blue in the garden. All I know is that I am ecstatic - I have green things sprouting throughout! Happy Spring! Thanks for sharing your lovely photos! ~ Robyn

  7. Ah ha, so you do agree that blue has some attributes afterall. :) Your garden is absolutely beautiful. A real Garden of Eden in all its glory! I do have 'blues' in my flower garden(s), but do not ask me what they are ???????????. By any stretch of imagination I am NOT a Gardner and am just contented when things grow.

  23. Great inspirational photos Vicky! I love blues & purples in the garden, but then I also love them with pinks, yellows & peaches. No reds or oranges though, which is a little strange since red & yellow are my favorite indoor colors. ☺

  24. In the past the only blue I liked were blue eyes, blue skies and blue ocean. Yet lately, I've been drawn to the color blue. The pictures you posted are "blueitful".

  29. Hi Vicky...

Hmmm...isn't it strange that you don't like blue in the interior of your home but you love it outside? Why is that? Just curious!

You know, I do not have any blue in my home...well, guess I should correct that by saying...slowly but surely, a little blue is slipping back in...but only in the way of tablescapes! Hehe!!! The reason I don't have any blue is simply due to the fact that I'm plain...flat...worn out on the color! I had my entire home in blue through most of the 80's and into some of the 90's! hehe!!!

I enjoyed your photos with splashes of beautiful blues though!!!

    Love ya,
    Chari
