I added 14 inches to the bottom so it would be high enough. Lightly sanded, primed , painted and glazed. Not hard at all.

How funny, I was looking at that headboard for my own master bedroom, but I didn't want to spend the $400.00. I like that you made it your own!
Love it!You took an already pretty headboard and made it even better!! Also, thanks for your visit to Hill Country House and please do not think I think blogging is wasting time! I love it and think it is a wonderful creative outlet.....I just can't seem to bump it up high enough on the priority list. Have a great weekend!
Ah, find the piece, and then adapt it to the space, with paints, with enhacements. I will have to get out and visit Pier 1.

I loved this post! Would love to know your paint/glaze recipe for the bed also. Rindy
I used Sherwin William's Paints in a acrylic matte. The color for the base was oyster white. The glaze was a mix of pavestone and water, half to half. You put the watered down paint on and then start taking it right back off with a cloth. Not hard at all.
I love it and you are that good!!!Have a good weekend,Carolyn
You ARE Good!!! That headboard caught my eye right off, remember?! Perfect little image to start...made me smile. Thanks for sharing the secret. -s
Nice job! It's perfect for the room.
I don't even have a headborad yet. I think this is exactly what I'm looking for. Now the hunt will be just as fun as the project. Thanks for the inspiration!Kelly

What type of paint was the pavestone? was it a glaze mixed with the paint? Thanks!
Just paint the same type as the white. I just mixed it with water.
What you did with that headboard is delicious, simply delicious. I have decided to re do all of my living room furniture which is cherry/ and or dark wood into a shabby chic look. Having always loved that calm, sweet look. Will get a hold of you later for the "recipe". Thanks Again!PS. have those poor daughters over for dinner, kidding, I have two of my own and it sounded just like them. Poor babies... :)
